Why are we soy-free?
We have been asked that alot recently. Our policy to be "as natural as possible" isn't taken lightly. It isn't an easy task to get soybean oil from the beans. There are many solvents used in extracting the oil and trace amounts of those chemicals remain in the oil. Sadly, it may also be in the Organic Soybean oil, but because it is part of the manufacturing process, it doesn't have to be included in the ingredients. Unless the Soybean oil is Organic, it is most probably a GMO soybean. It is commonly used by soapmakers because it is a cheaper oil and reduces the cost. We believe that you can't put a price on everything, especially quality.
Secondly, it is a common allergen to many. Using Organic Soybean oil may have less chemical residue, but the protein content is higher and more likely to cause an allergic response. By removing the soy, our products may be used by many of those allergy sufferers. If you are a retail establishment, this is a good thing for you as well.
Thirdly, it has a high level of Estrogen-like compounds. Men, children, pregnant women, and people with hormone-related illnesses do not need this Estrogen. Body-builders take heart with Heart of Eden. Our products are now user-friendly for you as well.
Hope this answers enough reasons "Why?"
